Philip started his building surveying career at the University of Hull Estates Department where he gained experience refurbishing all types of University buildings from Science and Technology buildings to student bars. Subsequently, Philip’s experience has been very broad but with an emphasis on residential and conservation matters. Philip previously headed the building surveying team at Smiths Gore in Corbridge, and then left in 1998 to become a sole practioner based in Hexham.
Philip now specialises in a number of contentious property related areas, providing expert witness reports in the fields of defect diagnosis, boundary disputes and rights to light matters. Philip is also only one of two Chartered Surveyors in the North East of England accepted onto the RICS Expert Witness Registration Scheme in respect of building and boundary disputes. |
Adrian began his career carrying out traditional building surveying on historic buildings in North Yorkshire, and thereafter in Northumberland. Adrian then focused upon commercial property surveying, firstly working for Chesterton, before moving to head the building consultancy department for King Sturge in Newcastle upon Tyne. Adrian specialises in acquisition surveys, dilapidation matters and refurbishments of commercial premises, and also undertake surveys on all types of residential property.
Adrian also has a keen interest and professional role dealing with party wall matters, rights of light and the field of Daylight and Sunlight in relation to planning applications.
